Far from being on hold, P.J. Simao said Tuesday he has been working diligently to develop land on holes 4 through 12 of the Ives Hill Country Club golf course.
This time, however, its not an apartment complex on the drawing board but a series of single-family homes on 105 residential lots on the courses town side.
Mr. Simao said his initial proposal to build a 529-unit apartment complex on the property, which he purchased in 2007, was simply a preliminary plan and it wasnt his intention to incense neighboring residents, who said they felt the complex would lower their property values.
Mr. Simao said because were going to miss this construction season anyway, new plans for the property would be unveiled by the end of June.
Those plans may be tweaked in a downward direction to add some amenities, he said, indicating fewer than 105 lots may actually be offered.
The course will remain open during the entire 2013 golfing season, according to comments Mr. Simao made to the Times on Jan. 25.
