POTSDAM - Nigel A. Spahr, 23, of Gouverneur was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after a traffic stop by village police on Friday.

Mr. Spahr was riding in the passenger seat of the car driven by his girlfriend, Ashley A. Brothers, who was stopped for failure to signal a turn and arrested for driving while intoxicated. Her blood alcohol level was measured at .12 percent.

Mr. Spahr became agitated, according to police, and refused to get back in the car when instructed by police.

He is scheduled to appear in Potsdam Village Court.
