An Ogdensburg man pleaded guilty Tuesday in city court to driving while ability impaired.

Dustin M. Dean, 26, of 808-A New York Ave., was fined $500, ordered to pay $255 in surcharges, given a one-year conditional discharge, told to enroll in a Drinker Driver Program and had his drivers license suspended for 90 days.

Mr. Dean was arrested Jan. 9 and originally charged with driving while intoxicated and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, which police identified as a partial tablet of Suboxone. He was also ticketed for speeding and inadequate/no muffler.

In other cases before Judge William R. Small:

Ray A. Planty, 33, last known address 708 Washington St., Apt. 3, Ogdensburg, was sentenced to 179 days in St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, for third-degree assault.

He was accused of punching and kicking Suzette M. Myers, 30, same address, on Jan. 19. He was also ordered to pay $200 in surcharges and told to comply with a no-contact order of protection for Miss Myers.

Mr. Planty was represented by the St. Lawrence County Public Defender’s Office.

Clyde R. Thomas, 39, of 810 Greene St., Ogdensburg, pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment to satisfy a Dec. 25 charge of endangering the welfare of a child. He was accused of raising his fist at a 16-year-old girl. Mr. Thomas was fined $100, surcharged $120, granted a one-year conditional discharge and told to comply with a no-harassment order of protection for the girl, whose identity was witheld by the court because of her age.
