I have known Sheriff John Burns for many years and consider him to be an outstanding lawman.

Sheriff Burns has brought his department up to the high professional level that it is today. He came up through the ranks and did a great job in all the positions that he held.

We in Jefferson County should be very proud of our sheriff and this includes our legislators. Please let Sheriff Burns handle his department in the professional manner he always has.

I know quite a few of his men, and they all speak highly of their boss. I think our legislators should let Mr. Burns handle the present setbacks, as he will and continue to head our country’s law enforcement in the fine manner he has in the past 10 years.
