TURIN The South Lewis Central School District will offer a kindergarten orientation program in February and March.
The four-evening program will allow parents and children who will enter kindergarten in September to meet with one another along with teachers and other school staff members to help begin the transition to school, according to a district release.
The first session will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 28 in the high school music suite.
Sessions at Glenfield and Port Leyden elementary schools will run from 6 to 7 p.m. March 7, 14 and 21.
Anyone with questions or wishing to register a child for kindergarten is asked to call the Glenfield school at 348-2620 or the Port Leyden school at 348-2660.
Children who turn 5 years old before Dec. 1 are kindergarten age.
