A property taken by the city last year after property taxes werent paid will be sold at public auction.
City officials are placing 801 Washington St., one side of a duplex, on the block for a minimum bid of $20,000. The auction is slated at 11 a.m. Feb. 14 in the City Council chambers, 330 Ford St.
The winning bidder would be responsible for $6,800 in unpaid taxes, said City Comptroller Philip A. Cosmo.
The property was originally divided into two apartments, but city staff members determined the apartments would not meet code requirements.
