A Watertown teenager admitted Monday in Jefferson County Court that he participated in the robbery attempt of another teen in which a pellet gun was displayed.
Jesse R. Davis, 17, whose last known address was 639 Olive St., pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted robbery. He, along with two others, had been accused in a grand jury indictment handed up in November with robbing a 15-year-old boy of his wallet and cash while displaying what appeared to be a handgun Nov. 7 at Maywood Terrace. Police said at the time that $270 was taken from the youth.
He is expected to be sentenced March 25 to an unspecified amount of time served at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and five years probation. Nicholas Vanzelf, 20, Watertown, pleaded guilty Dec. 21 to third-degree attempted robbery for his involvement and also is expected to be sentenced to time served at the PSB and five years probation at his Feb. 8 sentencing. Charges against Cody L. Davis, 18, Watertown, remain pending.
In other court activity, Gary W. Hamill Jr., 30, Carthage, pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated, admitting that he drove while intoxicated Oct. 27 on Brown Street in Carthage. Sentencing will be at a later date.
