CANTON — Village police are investigating nude images found near the edge of Canton Central School property near Woods Drive, interim Chief Victor N. Rycroft said Wednesday.

“We have a good lead,” Mr. Rycroft said.

The photos “do not appear to be local people,” he said. He declined to describe them in detail, but said they appeared to be commercially produced images.

“A couple of photos were scattered on the ground” and turned over to police by adults, Mr. Rycroft said.

A message left for Canton Superintendent William A. Gregory was not immediately returned Wednesday afternoon.
