CANTON Emma Rexford hit two free throws with 7.9 seconds remaining to lead the Canton girls basketball team to a 51-50 victory over Malone on Friday, clinching at least a tie for the Northern Athletic Conference Central Division title.
Canton (12-1 overall, 9-1 division) has not won a divisional championship since 1985.
Rexford finished with 19 points for Canton, and Kali Frank added 12.
Abbey Lapage led Malone (8-5, 4-5) with 11 points, and Janelle Heden and Morgan Fountain each scored 10.
OFA 69, POTSDAM 56
Felicia Barr scored 16 points to help the Blue Devils (10-4, 6-3) win a Central Division game in Ogdensburg. Susie Morrow provided 11 points and nine rebounds for OFA.
Breanna Sapp led Potsdam (2-11, 1-8) with 26 points. Chanti Chambers scored 15 points, and Taylor Bonno added 10.

Courtney Harringtons 23-point effort sent the Demons (8-6, 6-5) to a West Division win in DeKalb Junction.

The Bulldogs (10-4, 9-1) used an 18-4 spurt in the second quarter to defeat the Larries in an interdivision game in Brasher Falls.
Noah Bowes scored 16 points for Chateaugay and Chad Stalter added 13.

Kaden Dandrow scored 16 points to lead the Cougars (12-2) past the Lumberjacks in a nonleague game in Russell.

PASTOR BREAKS RECORD
Skylar Pastor broke a 32-year-old record at the NAC Invitational, winning the 300-meter run in 41.2 seconds on SLUs track. The previous mark was 41.46 seconds set by Malones Sue Hutchins.
Pastor, a South Jefferson student who runs for Beaver River, also won the long jump.
Malones boys and Cantons girls earned the team wins.
Rourk Marlow led the Malone boys (144 points) with a win in the 600. Ethan Vinson won the 1,000 and 1,600 for Potsdam (108), which finished second. Massenas Andrew Brush won the 55 and long jump.
Cantons girls (121 points)won the 3,200 and 1,600 relays and received individual wins from Lindsay Proulx (55 hurdles), Laura Pierce (1,600) and Rebecca DelRossi (1,000). Malone was second with 103.
