City police charged two men with first-degree burglary after they allegedly entered an Arsenal Street home illegally with a baseball bat early Saturday.

Police said Jeffrey R. Smith, 25, of 936 Summer St., and John T. Milazzo, 23, of 19632 Hillside Drive, upper apartment, broke into the residence of Brittany L. Camidge, 505 Arsenal St.

In addition to Mr. Smith allegedly breaking a table and lamp with the bat, the pair reportedly made Ms. Camidge fear for her life. Mr. Smith also was charged with second-degree menacing, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Mr. Camidge also received a second-degree menacing charge.

Charged at 5:05 a.m. Saturday at 400 Court St., the two were held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment in City Court.
