A Watertown resident was arrested by city police for allegedly violating an order of protection issued by City Court.

Michael D. Yarbrough, 45, of 383 Flower Ave. E., Apt. 2, allegedly told Cynthia M. Garnsey that he would beat her up if she left the residence. The order of protection was filed in July.

Police charged Mr. Yarbrough at 9:05 p.m. Friday at his residence with first-degree criminal contempt. He was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending an appearance in City Court.
