Ethel Mae (Potter) Chisholm, 90, of Cedarville, Ohio, went to be with her Lord on January 23, 2013. She was born on August 12, 1922 to Duane and Margaret Bennett Potter, West Carthage, NY. She graduated from West Carthage High School in 1941 and attended the Watertown School of Commerce, where she met her future husband, Robert B. Chisholm. They were married in the Potter family home on December 5, 1944.

Mrs. Chisholm worked for the New York Telephone Company during World War II, while Mr. Chisholm was serving in the US Navy as a fighter pilot aboard the USS Yorktown. After he completed college, the couple settled in Black River, NY. Mr. Chisholm worked for the Jefferson County Savings Bank of Watertown NY, while Mrs. Chisholm was a dedicated homemaker. From 1973-1984 they lived in Rochester, NY, before moving back to Black River. In 1994 they moved to Cedarville, OH. They were faithful members of several churches, including the First Baptist Church of Black River and North Baptist Church of Rochester. Most recently Mrs. Chisholm attended Emmanuel Baptist Church of Xenia OH.

Mrs. Chisholm is survived by two sons and daughters-in law, Robert, Jr. and Debra (Mesquite TX) and Douglas and Evelyn (Cedarville OH); two sisters, her twin Evelyn Box (College Station TX) and Doris McCabe (West Carthage NY); four grandchildren, Douglas Chisholm (Richardson TX), Stephanie Chisholm (Mesquite TX), Eric Chisholm (Fairborn OH), and Tiffany Chisholm (Cedarville OH); as well as several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, who passed away on February 7, 1997, and two sisters, Dorothy Maxim and Geraldine Harper.

Memorial services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1120 S. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Greg Couser officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am, Tuesday, until service time at the church. Contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, in Ethel’s memory.
