NORFOLK - The following news release was issued this afternoon by the Norwood-Norfolk Central School district in response to Friday mornings lockdown at the school.
Norwood-Norfolk Central School went into lockdown this morning, Friday, January 25, in response to a stranger in the building behaving suspiciously. State Troopers responded quickly, taking the individual into custody. Staff and administrators followed all procedures and at no time were students in danger. Throughout the incident, which lasted under an hour, our first concern was for the wellbeing of our students. As soon as the situation was resolved and normal routines were resumed, the school notified parents by email. Administrators and staff are to be commended for their timely and rapid response. We await further details as police complete their investigation.
