BRANTINGHAM — A Columbia County man suffered a head injury in a snowmobile crash at 10:05 a.m. Thursday on Ten Mile Crossing Road in the town of Greig.

Eric J. DeSanctis, 34, Valatie, was driving southwest on a 2011 Ski-Doo when, while approaching a curve, he veered off the trail and his snowmobile hit a tree, according to Lewis County sheriff’s deputies.

He was taken by Lewis County Search and Rescue to Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, where he was treated for a minor head injury, deputies said.

State police, Brantingham and Glenfield firefighters and town of Greig highway workers assisted at the scene.
