MASSENA - On Feb. 1 Massena will be playing Potsdam in the first half of a back to back, home and home Division 1 hockey game at the Massena Arena at 7 p.m. This season the Red Raiders Boys Hockey Team has established a benevolent partnership with the Wounded Warriors project in an attempt to raise awareness to the needs and plight of injured soldiers across the Unites States and around the World. The mission of Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors and its vision is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nations history.
In an effort to further this Mission and vision, each year we will schedule one home game to honor these Wounded Warriors and the proceeds of our 50/50 raffle and chuck-a-puck contest will go directly to this project. With the assistance of Mark McKenna from MAC Sports LTD Canton and Hank Ford, the Red Raider Hockey Team will be outfitted in camoflague jerseys for this event.
Members of the Massena and Potsdam communities, as well as hockey fans from around the region, are invited to come out to help cheer on the players in this Division 1 match-up, but more importantly, they will have the chance to help support this worthy cause.
