PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Canton-based state police charged Christina L. Joanette, 26, of Madrid with petit larceny at responding to a shoplifting complaint at 7:02 p.m. Monday at the Potsdam Wal-Mart.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - NORFOLK - Massena-based state police charged James A. Nieman, 41, of Norfolk with second-degree criminal trespass and criminal mischief after responding to a trespassing complaint at 4:40 p.m. Monday from the town of Norfolk. Troopers said the arrest was made at 33B Grantville Road.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - CANTON - State police from around the region investigated a number of property damage accidents around the region on Monday. Among those were:

■ John K. French, 44, of Canton at 8:19 p.m. on County Route 31 at County Route 14 in the town of Madrid.

■ Arthur M. Pascale, 65, of Massena and David B. Secor, 61, of Groveland were involved in a two-vehicle collision at 10:50 p.m. on state Route 190, near the Alder Bend Road, in the town of Altona.
