A Croghan man with several prior driving while intoxicated convictions was arrested early Monday in Warren County on a felony aggravated DWI charge.

Travis M. Queary, 29, was also charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after being seen failing to keep right multiple times on Route 9 in the town of Queensbury, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.

He had a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent, the state threshold for aggravated DWI, deputies said. State law says a 0.08 percent BAC constitutes intoxication.

Mr. Queary, who has four prior DWI convictions between 2005 and 2008, was arraigned in Queensbury Town Court and sent to the Warren County jail without bail.

He twice pleaded guilty to felony DWI charges in Lewis County Court, once in December 2005 and again in December 2008. He was entered into the county Drug Court program following the first conviction but failed to successfully complete it and in May 2007, while jailed in Fulton County on another DWI charge, was sentenced to six months in jail, five years’ probation, a $5,000 fine, a one-year driver’s license revocation and participation in the ignition interlock program.

Mr. Queary was sentenced to one year in county jail, a $2,500 fine and a one-year driver’s license revocation on the 2008 conviction.
