BLACK RIVER — Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies on Saturday night charged Dillon M. Ashley, 18, of 47N Northland Estates, Route 11, Watertown, with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

Mr. Ashley was accused of grabbing, punching and choking Cortney D. Henry, 19, Altmar, at 29702 Burnup Road, as well as damaging her cellphone.

He is to appear in Rutland Town Court.
