GOUVERNEUR — Village police are investigating an apparent hit-and-run of a pedestrian Saturday evening on Johnstown Street near Mills Park.

Police said a 46-year-old man, whom they did not identify, was seen lying along the north side of Johnstown Street by a passing motorist.

The man, who was conscious but had facial injuries and soreness to his right leg and hip, apparently was struck by a westbound vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Impala, police said.

The suspect vehicle may have damage to the passenger side headlight and side mirror, they said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the village Police Department at 287-2121.
