A former manager at Caprara Brothers Honda, 18712 Route 11, is charged by the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department in the alleged embezzlement of $34,195 from the business.
Brett W. Walker, 42, of 10767 Middle Road, Dexter, was charged Wednesday with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records. He is being held without bail in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building following arraignment before Brownville Town Justice Richard M. Parker.
The Sheriffs Department alleges he stole money in 20 sales transactions from fall 2011 to summer 2012 by repeatedly failing to register inventory and sales into a computer system, according to documents filed with the court.
Mr. Walker awaits grand jury action in the alleged embezzlement as well as on an unrelated charge of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property lodged in November in connection with a burglary investigation in the town of Lyme.
