An inmate at Watertown Correctional Facility, Dry Hill, jumped on another inmates leg until it snapped, causing a compound fracture, state police charged Thursday.
Colley Curry, 25, was arraigned in town of Watertown Court on a felony charge of second-degree assault, and he awaits grand jury action.
According to court documents, he accused the victim, William Monarch, 42, of stealing from his locker, a claim denied by Mr. Monarch. The assault occurred Jan. 6 in a restroom.
Mr. Curry is serving a term of up to five years given him in New York in December 2010 for attempted third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision website.
Mr. Monarch was sentenced in February 2012 to a term of three and a half to seven years in Ulster County for third-degree burglary.
