Merritt Joness letter with the title of Government should stop wasting money has merit. This can also apply to all other types of government from our local level up to the top or our elected representatives in Congress.
I grew up in a modest, upper-middle income family and with all the values not seen today. Im not here to judge anyone or at my age of 82 to even say that all of us must get back to the basics of the past.
You name it, Ive seen all types of waste, and true, someones waste is anothers treasure. No one wastes any better than local, county state and federal governments at work.
I tend to be thrifty and conservative by mature. For a very long time now, our middle-income families have shrunk and are on a course to a point where there will be only two classes in this great nation. You are either filthy rich or very poor. This is no joke or to not be given a second thought. My lovely wife has told me so many times thatiif you cant fix it yourself personally and others will not do likewise, then stop worrying and go on the best you can. If God is with you, who can be against you?
Theres no doubt in my mind and this Ive carried for a very long time since high school just a portion of the waste made by our local, county, state and the federal governments each and every day would put an end to additional taxes and help reduce our countrys debt to others. Any blame is equal to both parties.
Put them all in a poke and shake well, and when its dumped out, everyone is the same. The waste becomes one, and just maybe then we will see a change?
