It is very easy to agree with Gov. Andrew Cuomo that something should be done about guns. Pretty obvious isn’t it. The only problem he is wrong and not only wrong but very wrong.

First of all, I agree not everyone should have a gun. So perhaps a check to see if there is domestic violence, a felony and that kind of problematic behavior history is obtained before selling a weapon to anyone.

Once that check is made and the gun is OK’d for sale the listing of that name and kind of weapon should be destroyed. In every nation I can think of registration of weapons has followed with confiscation. Those nations include Canada, England, Australia, Germany, Russia, Mexico and China.

Those in power always keep their guns though and a prime example is Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, a typical political hypocrite.

Second, Gov. Cuomo says no one needs a clip of 10 rounds to kill a deer. This shows basic ignorance or a attempt to cover up the truth of what our Founding Fathers thought. They felt that guns in the hands of the people would tend to keep the government from becoming tyrannical. Their words not mine. Look in Federalist Papers Number 46 to confirm what I just said. That paper was written by James Madison. The same guy who helped write the Second Amendment. You can Google it to confirm what I said.

Gov. Cuomo knows better and should be less of a progressive and more truthful, but that is a lot to expect from a political person looking to run for president.

It used to be that when a person was a danger to society or himself they where put in mental institutions and medicated. The hospital for mental illness in St. Lawrence country used to house over a thousand people and now hardly functions because they have been turned out on the streets. It was one of many such hospitals. Furthermore, these poor untreated people are not treated and cannot be monitored to take their medications and frequently live on the streets with their psychosis. A recipe for disaster, in my opinion and borne out by events.

People kill people with what they have at hand, and guns tend to keep governments honest.
