CRIMINAL TRESPASS - NORWOOD - Canton-based state police charged Shawn L. McGregor, 36, of 335 Regan Road, Norwood was arrested on Wednesday for second-degree attempted criminal trespass anda parole violation. McGregor attempted to unlawfully enter a residence on Wright Road in the town of Potsdam and was arrested. His parole status was violated on a warrant was issued by the Department of Parole and Community Supervision. McGregor was arraigned in the town of Potsdam Court and was sent to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with no bail.

McGregor had been sentenced to 3 1/2 to 7 years in state prison in 2007 following his conviction for thre counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, spending much of that time under parole supervision after completing a susbstance abuse treatment program. He was last incarcerated from January to May 2012 on a parole violation.
