Syracuse Universitys C.J. Fair was named the Big East Conferences Player of the Week on Monday.
Fair, a 6-foot-8 junior, averaged 22.5 points and nine rebounds in two games this past week. Fair scored 23 points and hauled down 11 rebounds in Syracuses 72-66 win at Providence last Wednesday. On Saturday, Fair had 22 points and seven boards as the Orange defeated Villanova, 72-61.
Fairs award marks the second straight week a Syracuse player has received the Big Easts Player of the Week honor. Last week, the award went to SU senior Brandon Triche.
Earlier this season, James Southerland received the honor after his 35-point performance at Arkansas on Nov. 30.
Fair is averaging 13.7 points and 7.1 rebounds for the season.
