CARTHAGE — The Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for Winterfest, its annual winter fun day.

The chamber is seeking sponsors to defray costs of the event, which is slated from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Carthage Community Park off Route 3.

Sponsorship is available in various levels: platinum, $500 or more; gold, $300 to $499; silver, $100 to $299; and bronze, $100 or less. The funds help provide a magician and balloon artist, the popular Reptiles Forever display and the Souper Cookoff contest. Admission to the event is free.

There will be a cardboard sled race, which includes a prize for the most creative sled in the event there is no snow. In addition, food will be available and there will be a Precious Pet Photo Contest and raffles.
