Mary Jane Jackson, 88, passed January 12, 2013 at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past four years.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thurs., Jan. 17 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Garry, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will follow in the N. Watertown Cemetery.

She was born on December 20, 1924 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Marion Walker Quinn. She spent most of her school days in Evanston, Ill. and graduated from Nottingham High School in Syracuse, NY.

She married Donald J. Jackson on July 12, 1947 at First Presbyterian Church in Syracuse with Rev. Harry Bertrand Taylor officiating.

While residing in Syracuse Mrs. Jackson worked for the Syracuse Trust Bank as a bank teller.

The couple moved to Watertown where she worked for National Bank of NNY and Flower Memorial Library. In the early sixties she and her husband moved to Rochester, NY where Mr. Jackson worked for Kodak. They retired to Port Charlotte, FL and Point Vivian, NY.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Watertown and taught church school in the 1960’s.

She enjoyed spending summers at her cottage at Point Vivian.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband passed June 14, 2008.

Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Watertown or to the American Cancer Society.
