CROGHAN A Christmas card has landed a Croghan area man in trouble with the law.
Lewis County sheriffs deputies on Saturday charged Wendell W. Lehman, 48, of 9299 Erie Canal Road, with second-degree criminal contempt, answerable in Croghan Town Court.
Mr. Lehman was accused of violating a stay-away order of protection by sending a Christmas card to a protected person, whom deputies did not identify. A complaint was lodged in the matter on Dec. 26, deputies said.
