WORTH John P. Stephens, 46, Ilion, was flown by LifeNet helicopter to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, after a snowmobile accident Saturday afternoon.
The Jefferson County Sheriffs Department said the snowmobile Mr. Stephens was operating struck one driven by Matthew J. Stephens, 39, Frankfurt, who abruptly braked in order to make a right turn onto Mile Strip Road from the Horace Forward Truck Trail in the town of Worth.
Both men were ejected from their machines, though the elder Mr. Stephens was the only one injured, police said. Police said he was suffering from neck, back and shoulder pain and difficulty breathing. He was released Saturday night.
