The Thousand Islands Privateers struggles continued on Thursday night.
Ryan Stern scored two goals and Jonathan Juliano contributed three assists as the Danville Dashers held off the Privateers, 7-5, in a Federal Hockey League clash at Watertown Municipal Arena.
Thousand Islands (15-16) has now lost five of its past six games, with three of those coming to Danville (13-21), including an 11-10 road loss in the previous meeting on Saturday.
Luke Frey recorded four points, including three goals, for the Privateers, who rallied to draw even at 3-3 through two periods. But Danville responded with three unanswered goals to open the third to take control.
Emotions boiled over in the third period as Thousand Islands coach Paul Kelly, assistant captain Peter Campbell and Chase Tippin were all assessed unsportsmanlike misconduct minor-penalties as well as game misconducts.
The Privateers play at the Danbury Whalers at 7:35 tonight.
