Potsdam Central and Salmon River fell short to NAC Central Division rivals in varsity girls basketball action on Thursday.
Franklin Academy 63, Potsdam 35: In Malone, the host Lady Huskies outscored the Lady Sandstoners 24-8 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Shanielle Chambers paced Potsdam with 12 points followed by Sarah Vivlamore with nine. Kate Blanchard and Taylor Bonno added five points apiece while Kate Hildreth and Breanne Sapp closed out the Lady Sandstoner scoresheet with two points each.
Rachel Lamica tossed through a game-high 19 points for FA (7-3, 4-3). Janelle Heden struck for another 17 followed by Morgan Fountain with 15.
Potsdam (2-7, 1-6) returns to Franklin County on Monday with an interdivisional game against Chateaugay.
Canton 53, Salmon River 45: At Fort Covington, the visiting Lady Bears gradually overcame a 13-10 first-quarter deficit to gain a regular season sweep over the Lady Shamrocks.
Abby Kelly and Kwiio King anchoed the Salmon River offense with 14 points each. Taylor Francis added seven points followed by Jaiden Mitchell with five, Aliyah Cook with three and Sam Ghostlaw with two.
Emma Rexford fired through three three-pointers in a 32-point outing for the Lady Bears (8-1, 6-1). Tori Daley chipped in nine followed by Emily Pinckney with five whileRachel Sanderson, Katie Christy and Taylor Reed all finished with two and Kali Frank added a free throw.
The Lady Shamrocks (8-3, 4-3) will look to get back on track on Monday at Central Division rival Gouverneur.
A trio of interdivisional games on Thursday saw Madrid-Waddington beat Gouverneur 46-33, Brushton-Moira down Colton-Pierrepont 34-12 and Chateaugay stop Tupper Lake 35-25.
M-W 46, Gouverneur 33: The Lady Yellowjackets gradually pulled away from a 20-17 halftime lead against Gouverneur as Olivia Parmeter scored 14 points and Tessa Knight added 10 points, five steals and three assists. Jenna King added nine points and seven boards while Desi Pryce chipped in four points and five boards. Katie Marcellus finishyed with six points, six rebounds and three steals. Kirstin Roberts scored nine points for Gouverneur followed by Rebecca Bulsiewicz with seven and Danielle Bullock with six.
B-M 34, C-P 12: In Colton, the Lady Colts worked their way to a 7-6 lead by the end of the first quarter before the Lady Panthers regrouped to take a 13-8 lead into halftime before taking control of the game by scoring 11 unanswered points in the third quarter.
Jenna Dufrane, Danielle Trimm and Arielle Gary anchored the B-M offense with six points each. Sienna Kenny chipped in five followed by Mackenzie King and Caitlyn LaPage with four apiece, Miada McCarthy with two and Alex Trickey with one.
Morgan Doyle led C-P with six points while Kylie McKinley and Andrea Aldous contributed three points each.
Chateaugay 35, Tupper Lake 25: Courtney Boyea scored 11 points to lead Chateaugay past the host Lumberjacks (7-4, 5-2). Makayla Fleury added 10 points for the Bulldogs (5-1, 5-0).
Katie Stuart led Tupper Lake with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.
In the West Division matchups on Thursday, Heuvelton outlasted Hermon-DeKalb 54-47, Harrisville downed Edwards-Knox 37-22, Clifton-Fine outscored Lisbon 63-45 and Hammond overpowered Morristown 63-17.
