STAR LAKE — Clifton-Fine Hospital has chosen Robert L. Seamon, Wayland, to be its administrator.

Mr. Seamon comes from Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, a 70-bed acute care hospital, where he has been compliance officer and in information services and revenue, Clifton-Fine board Chairman Walter E. Todd said.

“He has a lot of experience in many areas,” Mr. Todd said. “At Clifton-Fine Hospital, you have to wear many hats. With his diversity, we feel he’ll be a good fit for us.”

Mr. Seamon succeeds Robert P. Kimmes, who left at the end of 2012 to become CEO of Skyline Hospital, White Salmon, Wash.

“We got a search committee going right away,” Mr. Todd said. “We’re pleased we’re not going very long without a CEO.”

Committee members pared a group of 23 applicants down to eight and then further down to three before making a final choice, Mr. Todd said.

Mr. Seamon is expected to begin work within 60 days.

He started what has been 20 years of experience in clinical health care as a respiratory therapist and worked his way up in administration, Mr. Todd said. Mr. Seamon has also been an adjunct professor in the nursing program at Cayuga Community College, Auburn.

Mr. Seamon, who was not available for comment, will live in either the town of Clifton or town of Fine.

“He’s been house hunting,” Mr. Todd said. “He loves the area. He’s an outdoor type person. I think he’ll be a good Adirondacker.”
