POTSDAM SUNY Potsdam senior Curtis Pierce received State University of New York Athletic Conference weekly honors for his mens basketball performance last weekend.
Pierce, the Bears captain, delivered a career-high 30 points in Potsdams 86-80 comeback victory over Manhattanville on Saturday. He followed with 23 points in Potsdams 94-80 loss to Ramapo College on Sunday.
The Brooklyn native leads the Bears with 17.5 points per game. He also has a team-high 24 steals and is second in rebounds per game (5.7). He ranks 15th all-time in scoring for the Bears with 1,190 points. He is 25 rebounds away from making the career top 10 for Potsdam.
■ SUNY Potsdam womens hockey players Kristen Domanski and Alexandra Holowka earned ECAC West honors this week.
Domanski, a defenseman, earned rookie of the week after scoring her first two collegiate goals as the Bears won the DoubleTree Ice Hockey Classic in South Burlington, Vt., over the weekend.
Holowka handed out three assists in Fridays 6-4 victory over Nichols. The sophomore forward then scored the game-winning goal in Saturdays 4-1 win over St. Michaels.
