James M. Briggs, 57, of Harry Bryant Rd., Williamstown, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at his home under the care of his family and hospice.
He was born on September 19, 1955, in Watertown, the son of Arthur and Inez Davis Briggs.
He was a graduate of South Jefferson High School.
On September 4, 1982, Jim was united in marriage to Elaine Martin in Mannsville.
He was employed by International Wire, at the O.W.I. plant for fourteen years. Jim was previously employed by Sheland Farms in Adams for seventeen years.
He was an avid outdoorsman and in his spare time, enjoyed cutting firewood.
Surviving besides his loving wife of thirty years, Elaine, and his mother, Inez, of Sandy Creek; are two daughters and a son-in-law, Bobbie Jo and David Fargo of Mannsville, and Kerrie Briggs, of Sandy Creek; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Brian F. and Tammy Cross, of Bernhards Bay, Bradley F. and Royanda Cross, of AK, and Nicholas Briggs, of LA; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Thomas and Barb Briggs, of Sandy Creek, Neil and Alice Briggs, of Osceola, and Gerald Briggs; a sister and brother-in-law, Penny and John Britton, of Adams; 11 beloved grandchildren whom he was very proud of, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2012, at 7:00 PM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 St. Rt. 13, Camden. Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Jims memory to the Upstate Golisano Childrens Hospital in Syracuse.
