■ CANTON — St. Lawrence County is sending a bipartisan team to meet with state comptroller’s office representatives about how it can improve its fiscal situation.

■ The Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County announced that Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell, D-Theresa, and Kinney Drugs collected 1,742 books for children of low-income families in the county. Books were collected at drop boxes at Kinney stores and through the Addie’s Books for Children program.
