CANTON — The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce board of directors has voted to support a county legislative five-year plan to use revenues from a proposed increase in the county’s sales tax from 3 percent to 4 percent to reduce property taxes.

The vote is the first in which the chamber board has supported raising taxes.
