POTSDAM Kara McDuffee scored 20 points and recorded six steals as the St. Lawrence womens basketball team routed SUNY Potsdam, 71-48, in a nonconference game on Friday night.
Allison Cady and Kelly Legg provided 16 points each for the Saints (6-3). Jessica Kouzan led the Bears (1-9) with 11 points.
UNION 63, CLARKSON 42
Kate Thompson registered 19 points and eight rebounds as the Dutchwomen spoiled the Golden Knights Liberty League opener in Schenectady.
Shayla Madden had 16 points for Union (7-3, 2-0).Ashley Loggins had a career-high 25 points for Clarkson (2-7, 0-1).
MENS BASKETBALL
SUNY OSWEGO 62, ST. LAWRENCE 52
Hayden Ward scored 22 points as the Lakers held off the Saints for a nonconference win in Oswego.
Chris Gilkes accumulated 13 points for SUNY Oswego (8-1).
Brady Condlin had 14 points for St. Lawrence (2-6).
UNION 87, CLARKSON 81
Keven Donohue was a force inside with 26 points and 18 rebounds as the Dutchmen snapped the Golden Knights five-game winning streak in Liberty League play at Schenectady.
Terrell Winney also poured in 26 points for hot-shooting Union (10-1, 2-0). Clarkson fell to 8-2, 0-1.
MENS HOCKEY
SUNY POTSDAM 3, CASTLETON ST. 3 (OT)
Mike Arnold scored with 36 seconds left as the Bears scratched out a tie with the Spartans in Rutland, Vt.
Adam Place and Matt Viola also scored for SUNY Potsdam (5-7-1).
Russ Herzog notched a short-handed-goal for Castleton St. (7-5-2).
WOMENS HOCKEY
BOSTON COLLEGE 4, ST. LAWRENCE 3 (OT)
Blake Bolden scored one minute, 39 seconds into overtime to help the Eagles past the Saints in a nonconference game in Canton.
Alex Carpenter supplied a goal and two assists for fifth-ranked Boston College (13-3-2).
Abbey McRae and Kelly Sabatine each provided a goal and an assist for St. Lawrence (11-8-1).
NORTHEASTERN 4, CLARKSON 3
The Huskies rallied for three straight third-period goals to send the second-ranked Golden Knights to consecutive losses for the first time this season in a nonconference game in Potsdam.
Paige Savage powered Northeastern (11-6-2) with the game-winning goal and three assists.
Carly Mercer netted a goal and an assist for Clarkson (15-5-0).
SUNY POTSDAM 6, NICHOLS 4
Amanda Lucky deposited a pair of goals as the Bears won against the Bison in South Burlington, Vt.
Jenn Crawford and Alexandra Holowka each dished out three assists for SUNY Potsdam (4-8-1).
Grace Murphy scored for Nichols (2-9-0).
