NORTH LAWRENCE — A North Lawrence man was charged Thursday by state police with striking his 1-year-old son.

Andrew J. Snyder, 20, of County Route 52, caused bruising to the child, state police said. The boy did not require hospitalization, they said.

Mr. Snyder was charged with one count of causing injury to a person under 7 years old, a Class D felony, and one count of acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17, a Class A misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in Brasher Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.
