WATERTOWN — A Gouverneur man faces up to three years in state prison after admitting Wednesday in Jefferson County Court that he was driving a stolen pickup truck while intoxicated in September.

Shane A. Deshane, 29, whose last known address was 84 Grove St., pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle as a result one incident, and two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny for two other incidents.

He admitted that he was intoxicated Sept. 14 when he failed to stop for state police on Valley View Drive in the town of Pamelia. Police said at the time that the pursuit of Mr. Deshane reached speeds of 90 mph over about 15 miles before the vehicle was halted by a “stop stick” which flattened one of its tires.

Police subsequently found that the 1994 Chevrolet Mr. Deshane was operating had been reported stolen from Depot Street in Gouverneur. Mr. Deshane also admitted that on either Sept. 7 or Sept. 8 he stole a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am in the town of Pamelia and that on Aug. 18 he stole a 2002 Chrysler Sebring in the town of LeRay. He is expected to be sentenced Feb. 22 to one to three years in prison and be fined $1,500 for the DWI conviction.
