Each year, 550 innocent children die senselessly. We have allowed killing machines into our schools, parks and even our own backyards. We have tried regulation, but it has failed.

If we truly valued the well-being of our children, we would ban ... swimming pools. These deadly devices kill three times as many children as guns do. Parents, at Christmas think of your children’s safety. Get them a Red Ryder BB gun. But whatever you do, don’t promise them a swimming pool.
