The Watertown City Council has agreed to accept free use of a 2012 Dodge Ram 4x4 from F.X. Caprara Car Cos. for the city Police Department’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education program.

The city will be responsible for insuring and maintaining the vehicle during the nine months the Police Department will use it until Aug. 31. The former DARE vehicle has been returned to F.X. Caprara, which has donated a vehicle to the program each year since 1997.

The department runs the DARE program in the Watertown City School District.
