NORFOLK A town resident faces a child-endangerment charge after he allegedly choked an eight-year-old boy during a domestic dispute.
Timothy J. Oakes, 26, of 13 South Main St., was arrested Thursday morning in connection with the Wednesday afternoon incident, state police at Massena said.
Mr. Oakes grabbed the child, pushed him down onto a mattress on the floor and then grabbed the boy by the throat, troopers said. Information about the childs condition was not available.
Mr. Oakes was charged with one count each of endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing. He was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending a Jan. 16 appearance date.
