Doran A. Johnson, 23, of 2937 Stoddard Road, Copenhagen, was charged by Watertown police early Thursday with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment.

Police said that on Nov. 5 he called Chelsey L. Baker, 716 Sherman St., a total of 79 times with no purpose other than to annoy her. It is also alleged that he threatened to kill her and also “wished death” upon her and her family in a text message. The phone calls violated an order of protection Ms. Baker held against him.

He is due to answer the charges in City Court.
