Depauville — Mrs. Frances M. Haas, age 70, of Depauville, died Saturday at the Samaritan Medical Center. The funeral mass is scheduled for 10am Saturday, December 29th, at St. Mary’s Church in Clayton, with Father Arthur LaBaff officiating. Burialwill be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Frances was born June 15th, 1942, in Watertown, the daughter of Lloyd and Frances Greene Higgins Sr. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School and also Clayton Central School.

Frances married John Haas July 21st, 1962, in St. Mary’s Church. John died October 3rd, 2005.

For a time before she was married she worked for Bomax Manufacturing in Watertown.

She was a member of the Bald Rock Lodge four wheeler club and a former member of the Depauville Fire Department Ladies Auxilary.

Frances enjoyed doing puzzles, snowmobiling, four wheeling and most of all taking care of her grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Judy (Stephen) Gardner of Clayton, Lisa (Shawn) LeClair of Clayton Center and Linda (William) Daly of Depauville; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister Nancy and her husband Al of Connecticut; one brother Lloyd and his wife Mim Higgins of Chaumont; nieces and nephews.

One brother Carl died before her.
