OGDENSBURG Jeffrey P. Gagnon, 35, of 103 Pine St., was charged Saturday by state police with fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle after allegedly escaping in a car chase Nov. 28.
State police said they attempted to pull over Mr. Gagnons car that day on Route 37, but he drove away and eventually escaped pursuit.
During the subsequent investigation, troopers searched his home on Saturday. Sarah A. House, 29, who also lives at that address, told police that Mr. Gagnon was not present and repeatedly tried to interfere with the search, police said.
Mr. Gagnon was found hiding under a pile of clothes behind a television. He was taken to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $3,500 bail.
Ms. House was charged with obstructing governmental administration and sent to jail on $1,000 bail.
In the same investigation, Tina M. Compo, 43, of 721 New York Ave., was charged on Friday with obstructing governmental administration for allegedly lying to troopers during their probe.
