Constableville- Rose (Skorupa) Earl, 92, a resident of West Main St. since 1952, widow of Allen G., passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 20, 2012, while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lyons Falls, on October 28, 1920, a daughter of Michael P. and Mary Dorish Skorupa. At the age of two she moved to the Plumber Road, near Highmarket, where she attended the Plumber Road Rural School, later completing her education at Constableville High School. During WWII, Rose was employed at the Rome Air Depot; afterwards she was employed for Monroe Co. in Boonville.
On February 8, 1947, Rose was united in marriage with Allen G. Earl, at St. Marys Rectory, Constableville. After their marriage the couple lived in Talcottville, before moving to their present home on West Main St. Mr. Earl, a US Army Veteran of WWII, and retiree of Boonville Division of Ethan Allen Furniture Co., Boonville, died on February 24, 1998.
Mrs. Earl was a member of St. Marys Church, Constableville, and was a past president and long time active member of St. Marys Church Altar and Rosary Society. For many years on a weekly basis she washed and ironed the Altar cloths for St. Marys Church. For many years she was employed at home baking and decorating cakes for weddings and all occasions. Rose greatly enjoyed raising flowers and vegetables. Rose greatly loved her family and was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Patricia and Thomas Flansburg, Constableville, Barbara and Thomas Sanford, Boonville; four sons and daughters in law, Robert and Ruth Ann Earl, Turin, Thomas A. and Sybil Earl, Denver, CO, Joseph P. and Deborah Earl, and Christopher J. and Sandra Earl, all of Constableville; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Hartness, Josephine Jo Skorupa, both of Port Leyden, Ruth Charbonneau, Edmond, OK, Barbara (Paul) Arabas, Long Valley, NJ, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Her Funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and at 10:00 A.M. at St. Marys Church, Constableville, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo, pastor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Patricks Cemetery, Constableville. Calling hours are Friday 2-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
