LOWVILLE A Lowville couple on Thursday was charged in connection with an alleged incident in which their infant son was shaken or slammed, causing brain injury.
Village police charged Wenrick J. Fleming Jr., 39, of 5490 River St., with reckless assault of a child, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, while Stacy M. Delossantos, 34, same address, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Both are to answer the charges in Village Court.
Police said the charges stem from an investigation into the recent hospitalization of the couples 9-month-old son at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, where the alleged injuries were detected.
Child protective services from Lewis and Onondaga counties assisted in the probe.
