MARTINSBURG — A Lowville man was charged with drug possession following a Friday evening traffic stop on Glendale Road in the town of Martinsburg.

Andy J. Turck, 35, South State Street, was charged by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, having a controlled substance in a non-original container, unlawful possession of marijuana and having dazzling head lamps.

Deputies said their new police dog, Wyman, detected marijuana in the stopped vehicle, and a search of the car also produced some buprenorphine, a narcotic.

Mr. Turck is to answer the charges in Martinsburg Town Court.
