A teenager said to be a runaway from St. Petersburg, Fla., surrendered Monday to Watertown police and was charged with obstructing governmental administration.

Police said Jonathan N. Gatesman, 17, ran Sunday night from the Children’s Home of Jefferson County, 1708 State St., where he was placed to await transport to Florida. On Monday, however, he had his stepfather, Frank T. Pacella, call the police department to advise that he could be taken into custody at Mr. Pacella’s residence, 201 Winslow St., Apt. 2.

He was to be arraigned Tuesday in City Court.
