A Watertown woman was attacked and choked by her daughter Monday morning while she was seated, holding a child on her lap, in the North Country Childrens Clinic, 238 Arsenal St., city police allege.
The alleged assailant, Erica D. Watkins, 28, of 309 State St., Apt. 1, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and blood circulation and endangering the welfare of a child. She faces prosecution in City Court.
Police said the incident occurred at 8:35 a.m., and she was taken into custody about 25 minutes later at the clinic. Her mother, Carla R. Rance, 53, of 629 Hancock St., was holding a 17-month-old boy when the domestic fight developed, police said.
Ms. Watkins was charged early in September with third-degree assault, with the victim being a man. She later in the month was granted a reduction to harassment, according to City Court. She was given a conditional discharge and was assessed $120 in court fees.
